Buyer Handoff and Document Flow
A handoff map for modular projects: buyer brief, scope decisions, document owners, production checkpoints, shipment inputs, and local execution responsibilities.
Handoff checkpoints
- Buyer brief: use case, quantity, market, destination, site facts, and target timing.
- Scope review: model family, options, utilities, packing method, and factory versus local split.
- Shipment handoff: final model list, packing assumptions, loading contact, receiving site, and unloading plan.
Document owners
- MK supports model references, dimensions, option notes, utility locations, packing notes, and product-side questions.
- The buyer owns quantity, destination, use case, commercial priorities, schedule, and local partner coordination.
- Local partners own road movement, foundation, hookups, inspection, authority review, and final field execution.
Do not leave open
- Who receives the shipment, who unloads, who inspects damage, and who confirms missing parts.
- Who provides local utility connection, foundation, anchoring, trailer, transport, and authority review.
- Which documents are needed before deposit, before production, before loading, and before local installation.
Before production approval
Confirm the active model family, quantity, options, finish direction, utility assumptions, packing method, and target delivery sequence before production starts.
Record any open local items separately: trailer, route, foundation, utility tie-ins, inspection, and authority review should not be hidden inside the factory scope.
Before shipment handoff
Confirm consignee details, destination, loading sequence, package marks, unloading equipment, receiving contact, and inspection process at arrival.
If the buyer is coordinating multiple local parties, share the same shipment and site-readiness assumptions with the trailer, utility, site, and operations teams.
Handoff record to keep
Keep one record showing approved models, option decisions, utility notes, packing assumptions, local owners, and unresolved field-side questions.
Use that record when moving into quotation, OEM customization, shipment review, or local installation planning so the same assumptions do not have to be rebuilt each time.
